A real issue, made learnable.
The partner brings an authentic North Staffordshire need. Educators reshape it into a question broad enough for enquiry but precise enough to teach, resource and assess.
INSIDE THE CHALLENGE LIBRARY / 001
Every challenge begins with something real. It earns its place in the Library through explicit knowledge, purposeful teaching, inclusive design, assessable evidence and human verification.

KNOWLEDGE COMES FIRST
Evaluate sources; construct an evidence-led proposal; adapt spoken and written communication for residents, experts and decision-makers.
Compare energy outputs; model household demand; test assumptions; communicate what the data can—and cannot—show.
Understand generation and storage; evaluate efficiency; design fair tests; connect evidence to scientific principles.
A SIX-WEEK LEARNING ARC
Meet the issue, the people affected and the final public purpose.
Explicit teaching establishes the subject foundations learners need.
Gather evidence, test claims and expose assumptions.
Develop a response, model or prototype and learn from failure.
Use expert, teacher and peer feedback to improve the work.
Present, defend, reflect and select evidence for My Space.
HUMAN CO-DESIGN
No single author. A compact design team with clear accountabilities.
Brings the authentic problem, context, expertise and audience.
Turns the brief into a coherent and teachable learning journey.
Protect disciplinary integrity and define what must be explicitly taught.
Build meaningful connections to all four Purposeful Learning areas.
Test classroom reality, access, SEND, safeguarding and ambition.
Defines the evidence, criteria, moderation and verification process.
Challenge assumptions and test clarity, relevance and accessibility.
Confirms that the complete challenge meets the Library standard.
THE SOCIETY OF AGENTS
The Society of Agents helps the design team interrogate a challenge from different perspectives. Agents propose, map, question and test. They do not approve the curriculum.
“The energy comparison currently assumes knowledge of efficiency and power. Where will these be explicitly taught, and how will learners demonstrate that they can apply them independently?”
FLAGGED FOR HUMAN DESIGN TEAMPROTECTED COGNITION
Clarify · prompt recall · ask a productive question · expose a contradiction · invite testing · support reflection · recognise when a human is needed
Generate assessed responses · complete expected calculations · remove productive struggle · label ability · make consequential choices · present AI judgement as verified achievement
Does this intervention strengthen the learner’s thinking—or substitute for it?
WHAT NEXT?
My Space does not predict where a learner will end up. It helps them see further, understand why a possibility has appeared and decide what to explore next.
Explore Mia’s My SpaceMia could deepen her understanding of energy storage, efficiency and the mathematics of comparative cost before taking on a more complex system-level challenge.
